Invasive Pneumococcal Disease may come in a form of Bacteremia
Bacteremia is known as a ‘blood infection’ resulting from the presence of bacteria in the bloodstream. Once in your blood, it can travel to distant organs such as your brain. Signs of bacteremia are rapid breathing, shaking chills, fever and gastrointestinal symptoms (stomachache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea). This can infect even the youngest of infants particularly those below 2 years of age who have immature immune systems.
An invasive Pneumococcal Disease can be dangerous and fatal. Prevent it. Ask your doctor about the IPD vaccine.
