How to prepare for perimenopause
Perimenopause is inevitable, but there are steps you can take to prepare for the changes it brings. These preparations can help reduce your symptoms and improve your overall health. There’s no need to feel you can’t go on with your life as usual.
Not all doctors or gynecologists are trained in perimenopause. You should consider your relationship with your current physician. If you don’t feel you’re getting the most out of your relationship with your doctor, you may want to make a change. Ask yourself these questions:
- Am I comfortable discussing any health issue with my doctor>?
- Does my doctor listen to me?
- Are my questions and concerns dismissed lightly? Does this happen often?
- Do I leaver the doctor’s office with unanswered questions?
Your answers to the above questions will tell you if you might want to look for a new doctor. If you decide to make a change, it doesn’t mean that your current physician is incompetent. Just as we don’t necessarily get along perfectly with all our neighbors, friends and relatives, we won’t always make a personal connection with a doctor. The best is to follow whatever your personal comfort level dictates.
