Exercise - a Key to have a longer life
Regardless of age, exercise is the single most important anti aging measure anyone can follow. It helps prevent coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, senility, and possibly certain cancers. It can also ease stress, depression, insomnia, and arthritis pain. Simply put, exercise is the closest thing to an antiaging therapy exists.
To help your body stay young, try to get at least 30 minutes a day of moderately rigorous physical activity (daily chores count if rigorous enough). Your routine should include three components:
- An aerobic activity to gradually raise your heart rate and improve your heart health.
- Weightlifting (every other day) to build muscle and bone and improve balance.
- Stretching-as little as 10 minutes every other day-to prevent stiffness.
Don’t overdo it. More is not necessarily better. Talk to your doctor before starting an exercise program.
