- Keep your hands busy. Putter in the garden, play the piano, chop vegetables, mend clothing, work on a hobby or favorite craft – anything that will focus your attention and get your mind off your moods. Additionally, these types of activities are right brain stimulating which studies prove can fend off a foul mood.
- Take a hike, brisk walk – even 10 minutes – can pound that bad mood right out through the soles of your feet. Breathe deeply as you walk and swing those arms. You’ll start feeling better in no time.
- Listen to upbeat music. Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast, so it’s said, and it can also soothe rough mood. Play something you can dance to. Don’t feel silly. Get up and get your feet moving.
- Treat yourself. Whether it’s a new dress, a facial at your favorite spa or some time alone to read a new bestseller, do it now. Some self-pampering can do the trick to banish a bad mood.
