Black Cohosh used to relieve menopausal symptoms

Black cohosh was also thought to contain phytoestrogens, a recent analysis suggests that it doesn’t contain any such compounds. Although researchers may not be clear about exactly how black cohosh works, studies support these herb beneficial effects in easing menopausal symptoms. Several clinical trials have consistently found that this herb (in tablets or tincture) can lead to significant reductions in hot flashes and other symptoms. In a study of 619 menopausal women, black cohosh supplements significantly reduced symptoms in 80% of patients. Many of the patients had complete relief from symptoms afar six to eight weeks of supplementation.
